Let’s Talk

Ellipse end

Rather than having a uniform, straight edge on the end of your worktop, we offer a softer, curved edge to create an aesthetically pleasing design. This fabrication is often used on kitchen islands or peninsulas, where the worktops protrude out.

A rounded edge makes it easier to move around. Worried about children running around in the kitchen? This fabrication option offers a practical solution for a family kitchen.

Radius corner

Similarly to an ellipse end, a radius corner is used to create a softer, more rounded look to your worktop. Instead of doing a full ellipse end, you can just round the corners of your worktop to make them a practical choice for those with young children.

Tapered cut

A tapered cut on a worktop refers to a cut where the width of the worktop gradually decreases from one end to the other. This type of cut is used to create a sloped or angled edge, rather than a straight, uniform width across the entire worktop.

Tapering can also be used for decorative purposes, giving a more custom or refined look to the worktop, especially in high-end kitchen or furniture design.

Cut-to-size

Cut-to-size is a process in which we can cut the material to specific dimensions or measurements as requested to meet your kitchen design requirements. We offer pinpoint accuracy to ensure that your kitchen worktops look immaculate.

Hob cut-out

This one speaks for itself. We can cut out an area of the worktop that can accommodate a hob. This helps to create a seamless and integrated design in your kitchen while improving functionality.

Irregular cut-out

Irregular cut-outs can add a unique design element to a worktop. Unlike standard cut-outs, which are typically rectangular or circular to fit common appliances, irregular cut-outs can have more complex, non-standard shapes. These might be custom-designed to fit a particular appliance or for aesthetic reasons.

Sink cut-out

Similarly to the tap cut-out, we can fabricate the worktop so you can incorporate a sink area into your kitchen design seamlessly. Combine this with the fabricated drainer grooves and you can produce a visually pleasing space in your kitchen.

Note: We can also fabricate one or the other, rather than both.

Drainer grooves

Drainer grooves are shallow channels or grooves that are cut into a worktop, usually near a sink, that allows water to flow through them and off the surface. The drainer groves are machined to be tapered to allow water to flow into the sink rather than sitting on the surface.

These grooves can add a subtle, stylish element to a kitchen design and help to keep your kitchen surfaces clear and dry.

Butt Joint

A butt joint is a woodworking or metalworking joint where two pieces of material are joined by simply butting them together end to end. This creates a tight, seamless joint with an almost invisible line. The joint is typically fastened using, glue, biscuits, or dog bolts.

As part of our fabrication options, the worktops can be grooved out and machined for dog bolts. Giving your installer the option to use biscuits and dog bolts, or just biscuits.

Mason's mitre joint

A masons mitre joint is typically used in woodwork, particularly in the installation of kitchen countertops. The idea of this joint is to create a neat and tidy joint that creates a seamless impression. This joint is usually used to create an L-shaped layout in the kitchen.

Rather than butting two straight edges together, the sheets are cut with a hockey stick shape and pushed together to make the surface look continuous and minimal.

Crescent edge

This edge profile was a fixture in kitchens of the past, but is now making a comeback in modern design. Curves help to make us feel comfortable and create an inviting atmosphere. This crescent edge can be used to generate a softer environment. Both the top and bottom edges have a gentle curve to them.

Shark nose edge

This fabrication provides a slimmer look to your kitchen worktop edge, giving it a modern, contemporary style. The shark nose edge also helps if you are looking to incorporate sleek, handleless cupboards in your kitchen area, as this edge allows you to slot your fingers in and open the cupboard.

Chamfered edge

A chamfered edge is a sleek, angled finish applied to the edges of your kitchen worktop. It softens the look of the surface, reduces sharpness, and adds a touch of elegance.
